FVAMC Hosting Veterans Benefits Fair as part of Heroes Homecoming
Fayetteville will host the Heroes Homecoming as the biggest commemoration/reunion of its kind for the 10 days leading up to Veterans Day 2011, featuring celebrations, discussions, fellowship, and memories for all those who attend.
The Fayetteville VA Medical Center will host a Veterans Benefits Fair Nov. 9 from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. as part of the Fayetteville Heroes Homecoming celebration. The fair will take place in the medical center's third floor auditorium, and all Veterans and other interested parties are welcome.
Representatives from the medical center's Women's Health Program, Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom/Operation New Dawn Program, Homeless Veterans Program, Suicide Prevention Program and Rural Health Program will be available to answer questions and take enrollment for health care from eligible Veterans. There will also be representatives from the Cumberland County Veterans Service Office and Veterans Benefits Administration to answer questions about education, disability and other Veterans benefits, as well as from the National Cemetery Administration with information on burial benefits.
The Veterans Benefits Fair is just one dozens of events scheduled during the 10-day Heroes Homecoming that kicks off Nov. 4 with an opening ceremony at the North Carolina Veterans Park in Fayetteville. The event series will honor Vietnam veterans through various celebrations, discussions and exhibits, and will coincide with Veterans Day.
