Pharmacy Department Highlights

FVAMC processes more than 4,000 prescriptions daily, with some being filled in house while others are filled by a Consolidated Mail Outpatient Pharmacy (CMOP) in Charleston, South Carolina.  Pharmacy residents at the FVAMC will practice under the guidance of a department of over 80 pharmacy staff members with a team of 20 Clinical Pharmacy Specialists (CPS).

The Clinical Pharmacy Specialists provide progressive, multi-disciplinary, patient-centered care in a wide variety of clinical areas under a scope of practice that grants prescriptive privileges.  In addition to their clinical responsibilities, many of the residency program preceptors serve as preceptors for affiliated pharmacy schools.
