Raeford Road VA Clinic
The 10,000 square-foot facility will house eight physical therapists, three occupational therapists, one speech pathologist and 13 therapy technicians. The facility will offer rehabilitative services using stringent, evidence-based therapy criteria, with FVAMC and WAMC officials estimating patient care will include 62,000 visits per year allowing greater control of the quality of care delivered, an improved patient care process, and improved efficiencies for both VA and DOD.
The $6.7 million community rehabilitation clinic was announced in 2012 as a Joint Incentive Fund proposal. A provision of the FY 2003 National Defense Authorization Act required DOD and VA to establish a joint incentives program, through the creation of a DoD-VA Health Care Sharing Incentive Fund, regularly referred to as the Joint Incentive Fund or JIF. JIF provides “seed” money for creative sharing initiatives at DoD/VA facility, regional and national levels to facilitate the mutually beneficial coordination, use, or exchange of health care resources, with the goal of improving the access to, and quality and cost effectiveness of, the health care provided to beneficiaries of both Departments.
In addition, WAMC and FVAMC have a robust Resource Sharing Agreement that began in 1998. This joint initiative allows both agencies to work together to promote efficient and cost-effective resource sharing ideas.
The Fayetteville VAMC and Womack AMC have full accreditation by The Joint Commission.
