Fayetteville VAMC Hosts Breast Cancer Walk, Oct. 12
October 4, 2012
The Fayetteville VA Medical Center will host a Breast Cancer Walk at the medical center walking trail on October 12. The walk starts at 12 noon and welcomes Veterans, staff and their families to wear pink and attend festivities following the walk.
A breast cancer survivor celebration will begin after the walk inside the medical center auditorium located at 2300 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 20301. Attendees can register for mammograms, listen to jazz music provided by the Soul DeCree band and hear the keynote address by Elizabeth Goolsby, medical center director.
“We encourage Veterans to talk to their primary care provider and schedule a mammogram to ensure early detection,” said Elizabeth Goolsby, director Fayetteville VAMC. “Mammogram screenings save lives and are available at the medical center to all eligible Veterans. If Veterans need help enrolling for health care benefits, we can provide assistance at the medical center health benefits office.”
