Fayetteville VA Medical Center Appoints New Administrator

Fayetteville VA Medical Center recently appointed Mr. Fred Roche’ as the Administrator of the new VA Health Care Center located in Wilmington, NC on September 23.
Mr. Roche’ will be working with the Executive Leadership Team at the Fayetteville VAMC and the Wilmington HCC to prove leadership to the new facility and ensure Veterans will continue to have access to the high quality health care they are currently used to and will have access to new specialty services coming to the HCC.
Prior to his appointment, he served as the Assistant Chief Business Office at the Robley Rex VAMC, Louisville, Kentucky. Mr. Roche’ has been with the Department of Veterans Affairs for 16 years holding various positions with increasing responsibilities. Roche’ started as an Administrative Resident at the VA Illiana Healthcare System in Danville, Illinois in 1996.
During his career he has been an Administrative Officer for a VA CBOC, Chief, Purchased Care, Executive Assistant to the Medical Center Director and a Systems Redesign Program Manager.
Mr. Roche’ received his Masters Health Administration degree from Indiana University in 1997. He completed a VA Leadership Development Program in 2008 and is a certified VHA Mentor at the Fellowship level. Roche’ became a Lean Six Sigma Black Belt in May of 2011.

Wilmington HCC:
The new 80,742 square foot Wilmington Health care Center is being constructed to provide exceptional health care to Veterans in the Wilmington and Brunswick communities and throughout coastal Carolina. The estimated completion is expected early 2013.
