Robeson VA Clinic Hosts Women’s Heart Awareness Day

February 12, 2013

“Event welcomes all women Veterans”

PEMBROKE, N.C. -- The Robeson County Community Based Outpatient Clinic (CBOC) will host a Go Red for Women event at the clinic on Feb. 13 from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon and 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm.  The event will help educate women Veterans about the signs of heart disease and how to make healthy heart life choices.

“We welcome all women Veterans to come out and join us for complimentary refreshments, women’s heart information and get complimentary gift packages for attending,” said Sonya Oxendine, Robeson County CBOC Nurse Manager.  “Our staff will be wearing red colors to show support of the VA Goes Red for Women Campaign being held across the nation.”

Veterans interested in learning about VA health care and mental health services available to them are invited to stop by, meet the staff and ask about enrollment options.

The Robeson CBOC is located at 139 Three Hunts Drive in Pembroke, NC.  The event is open to all Veterans and their families.
