“Dr. Antoine brings prestigious surgical career and Veteran leadership to medical center”

FAYETTEVILLE, NC – Fayetteville VA Medical Center (VAMC) announces the appointment of Dr. Gregory A. Antoine as the new Chief of Staff effective August 13, 2013.


“Dr. Antoine brings a Veterans perspective to health care,” said Elizabeth Goolsby, Fayetteville VAMC Director.  “His wealth of experience in the private and public sector, along with a background in business, will add further depth to the clinical care provided.  We are delighted to welcome a highly experienced Veteran to the medical center’s senior leadership team.”


Dr. Antoine is from Boston, Massachusetts where he previously served as the Chief Plastic Surgeon at Boston University School of Medicine.  Dr. Antoine is board certified in Otolaryngology and Plastic Surgery.  Throughout his medical career, he has extensive experience in surgical specialties to include Microvascular, Craniomaxillofacial and Cosmetic surgery.


Dr. Antoine completed medical school at the State University of New York at the Buffalo School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences in Buffalo, NY.  He completed residency at Walter Reed Army Medical Center and Georgetown University Medical Center in Washington, DC.  His post residency included Fellowship in Craniomaxillofacial Surgery at the Eastern Virginia Graduate School of Medicine in Norfolk, VA and Fellowship in Hand and Microvascular surgery at the Minnesota Microsurgical Institute in Minneapolis, MN.

Dr. Antoine is a Veteran of 24 years.  His military career includes service in the United States Naval Reserves, Navy Medical Corps and the United States Army Medical Corps.
