“All are welcome to attend and learn about VA health enrollment and programs for Veterans”

Veterans in and near the Jacksonville area can enroll in the VA health care system, receive information and find out about various services available to them by the Fayetteville VA Medical Center Rural Health Outreach team on Feb. 5, 2013.

The medical center’s rural health team and VA program specialists will be set up at the American Legion Burton Cowell Post 265 located on 146 Broadhurst Road, Jacksonville, NC  28546 on Tuesday, February 5, from 10:00 am to 2:00 pm.  The rural health team consists of a nurse educator and health care specialists who can provide information on diabetes management, controlling hypertension and cholesterol levels, women’s health care, mental health services and other specialized programs available to Veterans.  An eligibility and enrollment specialist will be available to discuss VA health benefits and accept Veterans enrollments on site.

Anyone who served in the U.S. military is invited to attend the event.  Veterans are highly encouraged to bring a copy of their DD Form 214 (discharge paperwork) and last year’s financial information to expedite enrollment in the system.
