Veterans Rural Health Fair Coming To Sunset Beach, NC on Oct. 24

Veterans in the Brunswick county area can enroll in the VA health care system receive health information and find out about services available to them from representatives of the Fayetteville VA Medical Center Rural Health Outreach team at the Amenity Center Sandpiper Bay Subdivision on Oct. 24.
The medical center’s health team will be set up at the Amenity Center Sandpiper Bay Subdivision at 710 Sandpiper Bay Drive Sunset Beach, NC 28468 on Wednesday, Oct. 24, from 10 am to 2 pm.
The rural health team consists of a nurse educator and health care specialists who can provide information on diabetes management, controlling hypertension and cholesterol levels, women’s health care, mental health services and other specialized programs available to Veterans. An eligibility and enrollment specialist will be on-hand to discuss VA health benefits and accept Veterans’ enrollments on site.
Anyone who served in the U.S. military is invited to attend the event. Veterans are highly encouraged to bring a copy of their DD Form 214 (discharge paperwork) and last year’s financial information to expedite enrollment in the system.
