Visitor Information

Sites of Care

Fayetteville VAMC operates two Health Care Centers – 1 in Fayetteville and 1 in Wilmington, plus Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOCs) in Goldsboro, Hamlet, Jacksonville, Robeson County and Sanford.  Our CBOCs provide Primary Care, Mental Health Care and offer Tele-health services for other specialties. The Brunswick County Outreach Center located in Supply, NC, provides basic medical and tele-mental health care to Veterans in and around the area.  Located off-site in Fayetteville, we opened the first community Dialysis Center in the VA health system nationwide.  This freestanding dialysis unit has the capacity to treat 64 dialysis patients.  We also utilize leased space in Fayetteville and Jacksonville to provide Readjustment Counseling Services for Veterans at the Vet Centers.

Additional sites of care include the Integrated Disability Evaluation System (IDES) located at Fort Bragg Army Base and Camp Lejeune Marine Corps Base in NC.  The IDES program minimizes the gap between service separation and VA benefits delivery.  To care for Veteran residents at the main medical center, our Community Living Center serves as host to the Fayetteville, North Carolina State Veterans home, a 150-bed long-term nursing home facility located adjacent to the medical center.

Waiting Areas

For your convenience and safety, we have special waiting areas throughout the facility. Please do not gather in the hallways or at the nurses' stations. You may also want to review our Visiting Hours and Policies.

We have volunteers who work in the Intensive Care waiting areas at specific times. Please check in, and give the volunteer the patient's name. If you leave the waiting area at any time, please let the volunteer know, in case we need to contact you.

Security and Law Enforcement

Fayetteville VAMC Police Officers provide continual 24-hour patrols of the facility, grounds and parking lots. For general police assistance, please dial 7922. In case of an emergency, dial 7079. Report all suspicious or criminal activity, vehicle accidents and property damage, (government or personal) to the VA Police as soon as possible.

The Fayetteville VA Medical Center is located on federal property. All persons and bags are subject to search. In addition, no weapons, alcohol, or illegal drugs are permitted.

VA Police Service may be reached at 1-800-771-6106 x 7922 or 910-822-7922.
