Fayetteville VAMC Director to speak at Camp LeJeune Retiree Appreciation Day Event
Rural health team set up on site for Veterans health fair
Veterans in the Jacksonville community can gain insight about health care services from guest speaker, Elizabeth Goolsby, Fayetteville VA Medical Center director and enroll in the VA health care system at the Camp LeJeune Retiree Appreciation Day on Saturday, Sept. 29. The Retiree Appreciation Day event starts at 8 am and concludes at 2 pm.
During the event, the Fayetteville VAMC rural health team will be set up at the Marston Pavilion, 730 Seth Williams Blvd. Camp LeJeune, NC 28547 on Saturday, Sept. 29 from 8 am to noon. The rural health team consists of a nurse educator and health care specialists who can provide information on diabetes management, controlling hypertension and cholesterol levels, women’s health care, mental health services and other specialized programs available to Veterans.
An eligibility and enrollment specialist will be on-hand to discuss VA health benefits and accept Veterans’ enrollments on site. Anyone who served in the U.S. military is invited to attend the event. Veterans are highly encouraged to bring a copy of their DD Form 214 (discharge paperwork) and last year’s financial information to expedite enrollment in the system.
